Swaleh Mustafa Maulid
Business Incubation Supervisor/Computer & English Instructor
Swaleh Mustafa overcame many challenges to become a dedicated educator. Excluded from Tanzania’s formal system, Swaleh participated in several QT programs as a private candidate, earning a spot in A-level high school. He went on to graduate from Tumaini University, Makumira, with a BA in Arts with Education.
Swaleh's greatest challenge, however, came in 2024, when he was severely injured in a motorcycle accident on his way to work at our Center. Numerous surgeries and rehabilitations later, he has regained limited use of the leg that suffered a crushed femur.
His tenacity is a great boon to EdPowerment as he resumed his work at the Center in 2025 in a supervisory capacity, directing the introduction of its computer training program.
Swaleh's previous visits to the U.S. have exposed him to diverse teaching strategies and environments. He is passionate about helping others advance through education, hard work and determination.
