Academic Programs Manager

Erast August worked with EdPowerment for many years as a science teacher at KIWOCE Open School (Kilimahewa), where he continued as Headmaster after the school became a private formal secondary school, independent of EdPowerment. In 2026, Erast joined our management team, bringing his experience and in-depth knowledge of the Tanzanian education system to our programs.

Erast now leads our Skills Seminars at government secondary schools, the Computer Training Program at EBIC (EdPowerment Business Incubation Center), and advises participants in our Sponsorship Program. Erast is a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in Chemistry and Biology. He also holds a Master of Education in Quality Management from the Open University of Tanzania.
